
Blue Spiny Lizard
Blue Spiny Lizards are the largest of all native Spiny Lizards (Genus Sceloporus). They inhabit the dry brushy habitat of the South Texas Plains. They are also commonly found around bridges. Sometimes you can find large numbers of Blue Spiny Lizards hiding under boards in abandoned farm buildings during cold spells. One of the most interesting fact about this species is that their ability to give birth to their young (viviparity).
